How can I use Sub-Albums?

Use Sub-Albums to organize photos and videos into separate sections within the same event

You can use them to separate photos and videos by day, activity, location, group, or any other category that works for your event.

How to enable Sub-Albums

You can find them in your dashboard. Go to: Event Settings > Appearance > Sub-Albums

When you enable the feature, an "Example Sub-Album" will be created automatically. Click "Edit" next to it to change its settings.

How to create and edit a Sub-Album

Inside "Edit", you can change:

  1. Title: Give the Sub-Album a name that matches how you want to organize your event.

  2. Default Upload Destination: Guests uploads will be added to this sub-album by default unless they choose otherwise. You can only have one default Sub-Album at a time. A default upload destination is required before you can save your Sub-Album setup.

  3. Guest Access: Choose how guests can interact with each Sub-Album:

  • View & Upload: Guests can view the Sub-Album and upload media to it.

  • View Only: Guests can view the Sub-Album, but cannot upload to it.

  • Hidden: Guests cannot see or upload to the Sub-Album.

Note: Sub-Albums set to View Only or Hidden cannot be used as the default upload destination.

How to add more Sub-Albums

Click Add New Sub-Album to create another one. You can also drag Sub-Albums using the handle on the left to change their order.

Sub-Album limits depend on your plan:

  • Free: Up to 3 Sub-Albums

  • Plus: Up to 3 Sub-Albums

  • Pro: Unlimited Sub-Albums

Can guests choose which Sub-Album to upload to?

Yes. Under "Sub-Albums Settings", enable: "Allow guests to choose a sub-album" When this is enabled, guests can choose where their photos or videos are uploaded. If it is disabled, uploads will go automatically to the Default Upload Destination.

How does the “All” view work?

Under Sub-Albums Settings, you can enable or disable: Show “All” view

When enabled, guests can see a combined view containing media from all visible Sub-Albums. When disabled, guests will only see media inside the individual Sub-Albums available to them.

What happens to media already in the album?

If you already have media in your event before enabling Sub-Albums, it will automatically be placed under Uncategorized. You can move these items into any Sub-Album afterward. If Show “All” view is disabled, media left under Uncategorized will no longer be visible to guests.

To keep it visible, either:

  • Move it into a Sub-Album, or

  • Enable Show “All” view
